How to find us:
St John the Evangelist Church, Iffley Road, Oxford OX4 1LQ.
It is approximately opposite the entrance into the University Sports
 Ground, which is in Jackdaw Lane, about 150 metres to the north.

The church is referred to as 'SJE' in the Directions below.

Travelling by car

Essentially, the City Council try to minimise access to streets and travel by private cars on local roads in Oxford. In many instances it is preferable to use the Park and Ride car parks and because of congestion charges many people prefer to use this system, continuing their journeys by bus.

Travelling by bus to Oxford
Bus services from London run about every ten minutes during the day. Buses go from, among other places, Victoria Station, Marble Arch, Notting Hill, Shepherd’s Bush and Hillingdon. Once you reach Oxford, disembark at the St Clement’s stop.

Travelling by bus in Oxford
Many Oxford City bus services travel along St Giles, Queen Street, Bonn Square, Castle Street and St Aldate's to reach the City centre.  Local bus route maps can be obtained from their website, and you can also download a map of their city centre bus stops.

There is a bus stop outside the church in Iffley Road (James St stop) for buses from the town centre (Service no 3).  Nearby, in Cowley Road, there are further buses which run to and from the town centre (James St stop) (Services no 1, 5,10 plus several more)

Parking
Especially if you enter the City through Headington, there is a small public car park at the bottom of St Clement's and another behind Tesco in Cowley Road.  Both are a short walk from the SJE. There is some on-street parking in Iffley Road and in the nearby side streets after 6.30pm. Allow time, as it may take a little while to locate a space.

If travelling by train to reach Oxford
Having arrived at Oxord Railway Station, frequent buses run from Oxford Railway Station across Oxford to Iffley Road – No 3 bus (James St stop is directly outside the SJE) or No 5 takes you to Cowley Road – James St stop – a 3 minute walk from the SJE.  Once you reach Cowley Road, disembark at the James Street stop (see map for precise location).

Travelling by bicycle
SJE has bike parking but it's not immediately obvious. Walk your bike past the left-hand side of the church, through the gateway into the back space. Cycle parking is here.

Access
There is wheelchair access to the church both from the Iffley Road entrance (OX4 1EH), and from the College's car park off James Street (OX4 1ET).  It may be possible to arrange car parking for blue badge holders for a small charge.

There are WC facilities for wheelchair users off the cloisters, closely adjacent to the church.
